Description
As the Youth Services Assistant Coordinator you will assist in providing Program support to the Girls Choice Program to ensure participants and mentors are receiving support and gain access to any resources that can help address their needs.
Schedule: 30 hours per week, flexible hours; must be available Fridays 5:00PM to 8:00PM, Thursdays until 6:30PM and Saturdays 8:00AM to 1:00PM.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit middle school girls for the Girls Choice Program.
- Create and maintain individual files for intake and assessment.
- Assist in preparing and facilitating Girls Choice Program curriculum.
- Monitor and track student attendance and participation in the scheduled programming.
- Collect data, create spreadsheets and conduct pre/post surveys of all participants.
- Provide case management services as needed.
- Facilitate parent/mentee guidance meetings as needed to maintain compliance with Girls CHOICE rules and procedures.
- Be an active liaison with Worcester Public Schools by working closely with guidance counselors, school adjustment counselors etc.
- Coordinate college tours with campuses in New England and assist in transporting girls on college tours.
- Assist in coordinating field trips and transporting girls on the field trips.
- Assist with planning and running activities for Family Fun Fridays.
- Purchase food and program supplies.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Minimum of associate degree in counseling, psychology or related field or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience working with youth or young adults required.
- Must be culturally sensitive and able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with people of all demographics.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment.
- Demonstrated public speaking, facilitation, training, and organizational skills.
- Ability to engage youth and professionals.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
