Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Head Hockey Coach, act as the Assistant Director of Hockey Operations and Video Coordinator for a Division I Women’s Hockey program in accordance with NCAA, WCHA and University rules and regulations.
Video Coordinator: Manage all scouting breakdown and dissemination of opponent and Wisconsin video exchange using XO’s exchange program & Hudl Sportscode. Record all games that are broadcast on cable and/or the Internet. Work with coaches to obtain video exchanges for upcoming, non-conference opponents. Create a video dissemination plan for sending video from the office to student-athletes including the use of online storage portals and student-athlete iPads. Manage the logging and tagging of all video and game feeds. Provide assistance to visiting teams as it relates to video services. Download and breakdown video of future opponents. Access video of prospective student-athletes for recruiting purposes. Work with Brand Communications and Video Services on highlight videos and other content to share on social media. Under the direction of the coaching staff, record video of professional and international hockey teams, players and shifts for use in the development of student-athletes. Organize all video used by the program to be easily accessible by the coaching staff and players on Hudl. Create and maintain a repository of all Wisconsin Hockey games from previous seasons. Create a repository of all recruiting video used by the coaching staff. Oversee the technical setup of all game aspects including: video recording, network development and computer connections. Coordinate the recording & tagging of all Wisconsin home and away games.
Assistant Director of Operations: Assist the Director of Women’s Hockey Operations in administrative and logistical functions of the program. Provide input to Director and Head Coach in annual budget development process in regards to video and technology needs. In coordination with the Director and Coaching Staff, create and develop recruiting functions within ARMS and Teamworks and other graphic design systems. Act as the onsite contact for team travel.
Responsibilities: Plans video production in collaboration with institutional units or a creative team, directs onsite production for events, and/or post-production editing of video and audio to ensure quality production of visual content for institutional/unit projects. May train staff and/or students on equipment and software.
- 20% Operates video equipment to capture events, presentations, performances, or educational activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor settings
- 20% Plans, organizes, and executes video production projects in collaboration with internal work units and stakeholders
- 15% Sets up and maintains all required equipment
- 10% Edits post-production work with various software and technologies according to established objectives
- 5% Shares and/or produces materials on various mediums
- 5% May train, direct, and guide staff or students on specific uses of video equipment and digital software, as needed
- 5% Develops and schedules operational work plans for onsite productions and post-production editing work according to established objectives
- 5% Uses creative and technical skills along with editorial independence, editorial judgement, and journalistic integrity on projects across broadcast and digital platforms
- 5% Serves as subject matter expert in broadcast video and audio standards, and file-based media workflows
- 10% Assist Director of Operations with administrative responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:
The most qualified candidates will have:
o A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience with hockey video work is required. Five (5) or more years is preferred.
o Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot computer and technical issues in regard to video, software and networking.
o Knowledge and ability to use Hudl SportsCode, Teamworks, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere software.
o Knowledge and ability to use video editing software.
o Ability to travel and work nights, weekends and holidays, as required by events.
o Strong communication skills in working with coaching staff and program partners.

Conditions of Appointment: This is a 100% Academic Staff appointment. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included.
