JOB SUMMARY:

This Water Mitigation Technician Assistant is primarily responsible for contacting the client, performing an initial site visit, obtaining an authorization to proceed with services, evaluating the current site conditions, updating the insurance carrier, physically performing the necessary water extraction, identifying, recording and documenting a dry-log per project. The Water Mitigation Technician Assistant also performs any emergency demolition as needed, deliver, stage, set-up and monitor drying equipment, take-down and decontaminate drying equipment, provide estimate/bill, invoice, and collect the charges for the services rendered from client.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Water Mitigation Technician Assistant core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Visits new assignments/jobs, interface with the client, and sell the job.
  • Scopes the damages at the site, perform mitigation services, create an estimate on a database, and submit it to the insurance company for approval.
  • Calls or meets the customer to ensure they are satisfied and collects payment for work completed.
  • Develops moisture mapping and creates drying-log

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Successfully completed the IICRC WRT course or another industry recognized/approved class; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrate the ability to write routine reports, correspondence and the ability to speak effectively to customers and/or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to visit project sites that have incurred catastrophic events from fire, water, and storm damage and could require accessing roofs, which they need to be able to carry a 28′ ladder from their truck and setting it up at the roof line of the associated property. The employee must be able to carry a minimum of 50 pounds in weight for the purpose of getting material to a specific place on the project site.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
