Position Description
As a Senior Director of Enterprise Systems, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities during specific timeframes:
- First 30 days
- Focus on learning about the company and your role
- Complete all company and department-specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) and trainings
- Learn about your team structure and the individuals who are part of it
- Discover the systems that are used in the company
- Understand the processes that the company follows
- Within 60 days
- Focus on contributing to the company’s overall mission and departmental objectives
- Develop a good understanding of the people, systems, and processes
- Identify gaps in the current processes and systems
- Recommend solutions to remediate the identified gaps
- Suggest process improvements to optimize efficiency
- Explore growth and training opportunities for the team
- Propose networking hardware and software upgrades to enhance productivity
- Before the end of 90 days
- Use your knowledge and experience gained in the first 60 days to lead the Enterprise Networking team
- Employ appropriate and effective leadership strategies
- Leverage your newfound expertise to guide the team towards success
- Apply the lessons learned in the initial period to improve team performance
- Continuously assess and adjust your approach to ensure optimal results

- Establish strong working relationships within the company in the capacity of a trusted advisor on enterprise infrastructure matters
- Analyze the performance of enterprise systems to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs
- Conduct research to identify ways of improving on current system performance
- Harden security posture of enterprise systems and assist with information security audits or investigations, as needed
- Perform tests to verify the functionality and usability of existing and new technology
- Schedule support coverage shifts, plan for capacity changes, and maintain overall enterprise system health
- Verify all enterprise systems follow corporate and government regulations and remediate when gaps are found
- Ensure uptime maximization of systems, working to improve resiliency when needed
- Engage in customer facing communication covering such topics as requests, troubleshooting, design, and best practice recommendations
- Produce and present reports of the overall operational health, support services, and any issues related to the enterprise systems
- Installation and upkeep of computer hardware and software associated with enterprise systems, including the racking, and stacking of equipment
- Implement and support enterprise infrastructure including installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, and maintenance and monitoring
- Assist in the research, design, testing, and implementation of new technologies and solutions for cloud-based and multi-data center infrastructure.
- Architect and implement highly available, resilient, and fault-tolerant solutions in cloud-based and on-premises production environment
- Assist with planning and implementation of short and long-range strategies including changes in configuration, technology and processes pertaining to enterprise infrastructure
- Manage both cloud and multi-site enterprise environments, including replication for disaster recovery
- Troubleshoot problems to provide solutions to hardware and software defects or configuration issues
- Monitor enterprise systems to ensure they function efficiently
- Ensure timely maintenance is performed on all enterprise equipment throughout the company
- Follow instructions contained in equipment manuals when setting up systems or conducting repairs
- Design, document, operate, and maintain enterprise systems
- Maintain inventory of supplies and spares; including ethernet, fiber, twinax, and power cords; replacement parts; including power supplies, fans, and hard drives; and N+1 spares
Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
- More than six years of experience leading large Information Technology (IT) teams, which includes subordinate managers, or equivalent experience
- More than 10 years of experience working in an IT or IT-related field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrate a track record of success with increasing levels of responsibility
- Exhibit experience in mentoring and people management
- Hold a fundamental understanding of systems and storage, with demonstrated experience supporting very large-scale hybrid environments
- Utilize call and ticketing software
- Display functional and technical understanding and knowledge related to role responsibilities
- Demonstrate the ability to develop and strengthen effective customer relations
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve corporate and departmental goals
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Stay updated with new technological and procedural developments and demonstrate knowledge and expertise with software tools, as well as the ability to evaluate solutions

- Proficient in using ServiceNow
- Knowledgeable in on-premises and cloud-connected enterprise infrastructure systems, including hyper-converged systems, servers; such as physical and software-defined; routers, switches, firewalls, web and SPAM filters, load balancers, server and desktop virtualization, and cloud computing
- Familiar with on-premises and cloud-connected enterprise infrastructure software, including operational systems such as Microsoft Windows and Linux/UNIX, patch management, virus protection, Microsoft Office platforms; like SharePoint and Teams; Active Directory and Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name System (DNS), Microsoft Exchange, Identity management systems, and various database platforms such as Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and Postgress
- Knowledgeable in on-premises and cloud-connected enterprise storage systems, including direct-attached storage, object-based, Network-Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Networks (SAN), and cloud-based storage
- Experienced in server and network security, including role- or rule-based Access Control Lists (ACLs), logical and physical level security, anti-virus end-point protection, and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption and certificates
- Excellent technical writing skills
Benefits
The base compensation range for this role is $130000 – $180000 / year for the position in California. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries in Californiabased on the date of this job posting.
