VP, C13 – Senior Credit Officer (SCO) Program Lead (Hybrid)

Global Risk Review (GRR) provides independent, objective, reliable, valued and timely assurance to the Citigroup (Citi) and Citibank NA (CBNA) Risk Management Committees of the respective Boards of Directors (collectively, the “Boards”), the Citigroup Chief Risk Officer (CRO), the Citibank CRO, senior management and regulators over the effectiveness of credit, capital and collateral risk management and the ability of the Business and independent Risk Management to identify, monitor and mitigate current and emerging risks. The assessments are undertaken by four core Review functions including: Fundamental Credit Risk, Confirmation of Basel Review and Analysis , Collateral Risk Review , and Global Portfolio Review .

GRR also includes the Global Credit Risk Officer Framework, Capital Planning Review and Challenge, and Independent Risk Quality Assurance teams sponsored by the Head of Global Risk Review. Centralized support to the GRR organization is provided by the GRR Chief Administrative Office, Infrastructure and Strategic Projects, GRR Analysts and GRR Analytics teams.

Within GRR, the Global Credit Risk Officer Framework function drives best-in-class credit risk officer frameworks, programs, policies, assessments, and periodic reevaluation consistent with expectations of the Boards, senior management, and regulators.

The SCO Program Lead will report to the Credit Risk Officer Framework Development Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the SCO Program Development and Leadership team in planning and running SCO Programs and initiatives, in particular the Advanced Credit Evaluation Program (ACE) which is designed to assess when aspiring SCOs will be ready to receive such a credit approval authority (assessment of leadership and credit risk skills). The incumbent will have extensive interaction with senior management within Banking, Capital Markets, and Advisory (BCMA), Citi Markets, the Citi Commercial Bank (CCB), Personal Banking & Wealth Management (PBWM), Independent Risk Management, Compliance, and Learning & Development (L&D). The SCO Program Lead will play a critical role in enhancing the Global Credit Risk Officer Framework.

The Global Credit Risk Officer Framework is a core building block of sustaining an effective credit culture which supports safety and soundness at Citi and which includes numerous key elements that have been enhanced to create a more proactive, inclusive and transparent management of Citi’s Credit Risk Officer universe as governed by the Credit Risk Officer Policy. The Global Credit Risk Officer Framework governs all aspects of the Credit Officer journey beginning with training and qualifications for Credit Officers (COs) through governing the requirements and elevation process for achieving the SCO Level 1 Designation, the highest credit approval level at Citi.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Lead for the ACE Program (a 5-day in-person assessment event which currently takes place approximately every 2 months) in various locations globally including design, planning and execution
  • Support the SCO Program Development and Leadership team in the development and management of all SCO related programs and initiatives
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans for the various Programs, including ACE
  • Ensure the organization of the various Programs including securing various senior stakeholders to participate in the Programs and liaising with various stakeholders including Citi Event Planners and external venues to ensure all logistical needs for the Programs are met. This includes in-person leadership of all ACE Programs
  • Supporting Global Credit Risk Officer Framework team on various administrative tasks related to budget planning, expense management, procurement, contracts and coordination of meetings
  • Support SCO diversity efforts, initiatives or programs
  • Support the development and creation of a Case Study Library for all Global Credit Risk Officer Framework needs including specific usage for ACE
  • Analytical support for all global requests related on CO and SCO data, including responsibility for data verification process, analyzing and interpreting data to make conclusions or recommendations, and performance analysis and reporting
  • Prepare and hold presentations and communications to a variety of senior stakeholders including Advisors, Steering Committee, Managers and Candidates regarding any component of the Global Credit Risk Officer Framework
  • Gather deliverables and/or prepare presentations to meet internal and regulatory needs
  • Support buildout of new Global Credit Risk Officer Framework Data Management Portal and Manager Dashboard
  • Support training relevant users on Data Management Portal and Manager Dashboard; including the creation of all training materials and reference manuals
  • Ad hoc projects designated by Global Credit Risk Officer Framework Team and special projects supporting GRR Management

Qualifications:

  • Conversant with credit risk management concepts
  • 6-10 years of experience, including project management
  • Credit Analyst experience a plus
  • Experience in program management and overseeing talent related programs a plus
  • Proven track record of delivering results and strategic initiatives in a complex environment

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree

Travel:

  • Required, approximately eight weeks per year (domestic and international)
