Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Engineer/SME to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of Department of State (DOS) Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative is intended to provide IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting CA services globally.
What you’ll do:
- Design, develop, and deploy enterprise Oracle Cloud infrastructure (OCI) capabilities including:
- Database platforms including Exadata Cloud Infrastructure
- Infrastructure including Network, Compute, and Storage
- Cloud Management, Monitoring and Security
- Identity Management
- Support the development OCI capabilities that meet Application and Database requirements for Disaster Recovery.
- Collaborate with team members in Engineering, Operations, and Security to develop solutions that meet Federal and Department of State security guidelines.
- Serve as OCI SME in Technical and Management discussions.
- Support the development of automation within OCI.
- Support Transition to Operations activities to include training of Operational personnel in management of OCI services and integration of
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- BS degree and 10-12 years experience or MS degree with 8-10 years experience or high school diploma/equivalent and 14 years experience.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certification (may be waived if candidate has 2+ years hands-on OCI experience)
- 1+ years hands-on experience designing, developing and implementing OCI solutions
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development and deployment.
- Experience with AGILE development and SCRUM methodologies
- Strong understanding of modern DevOps practices, including automation, continuous delivery, continuous deployment, and continuous integration methodologies.
- Expert knowledge Oracle Database architecture and management.
- Ability to problem-solve individually or with team members
- Experience with customer facing efforts.
- Requires US Citizenship and active Secret Government security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Desired qualifications
- 3-5 years hands-on experience with OCI
- Advanced Oracle Database Certifications
- Experience with Department of State
- ITSM and/or Security certifications
Location: Dulles, VA. This position supports work from home, there may be a need for the employee to be onsite (as often as weekly on Wednesdays).

Range for Posting
Salary Minimum: $72,500
Salary Mid: $145,000
Salary Maximum: $181,300
The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton’s total compensation package for employees.
