General Description / Primary Purpose
Responsible for a wide range of tasks, including developing and managing web strategy, information architecture, development and online optimization. Supports units with evaluating web content to ensure marketing and communications strategies and objectives are met. Supports the digital strategy to recruit and retain both on-campus and online students. Candidate must be able to reduce complex information into simple, clean interfaces that drive engagement and enhance the user experience.

Essential Duties

Job Function

  • Developer for the official University of North Florida website, .
  • Implements content strategy, digital marketing, and data analytics.
  • Makes recommendations for user-centric information architecture while supporting business and marketing goals.
  • Assists in leading digital efforts by working directly with the University’s Marketing and Communications team, including designers and content specialists.
  • Supports a digital road map and provides a vision for enhancements to the official UNF website.
  • Collaborates with Information Technology Services (ITS) and makes recommendations for improvements to UNF websites, mobile apps and portals that will support digital strategy.
  • Creates wireframes and production code to continue to elevate the University’s online presence.
  • Increases visibility of the University’s programs, including UNF Online, to both prospective and current students.
  • Assists [Director/university content managers/etc.] in managing the content management system (CMS) while ensuring branding and marketing guidelines are met.
  • Collects and analyzes analytics to support our web strategy and to improve search engine optimization (SEO) results.
  • Conducts A/B tests and other performance measures.
  • Utilizes accessibility tools to ensure content meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards.
  • Monitors and provides ongoing analysis of the University’s webpages to identify broken links and content errors as well as outdated content.
  • Identifies training needs, prepares and delivers ongoing training for University content managers and other website users.
  • Communicates and works collaboratively with governance committees, creative teams and stakeholders.
  • Works with CMS vendor for ongoing back-end maintenance and front-end optimizations for page speed.
  • Miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization and four years of experience directly related to the job functions.

  • Solid understanding of web and mobile technologies
  • Builds and tests aesthetic, functional, and user-friendly websites
  • Fundamental understanding of frameworks, preferable Foundation
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML and common web languages
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and design concepts
  • Understand web administration principles, such as web publishing (SFTP), domain names, redirects and SEO
  • Knowledge of UX/UI best practices
  • Skills in user experience including usability, accessibility and functionality
  • Manage rolling deadlines and multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to provide website training to staff and/or students in area of expertise
  • Ability to generate business results based on a customer relationship management (CRM) strategy

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Familiarity with Hannon Hill’s Cascade CMS
  • Experience using a screen reader and other accessibility tools
  • Photography, videography, video editing experience is a plus
  • Ability to implement Google analytics and integrate results into Google Data Studio for visualization
  • Experience with email marketing and social media
