UHR Project Manager (Fixed Term)

As a Project Manager with UHR, you will develop and orchestrate project plans that sit at the intersection of multiple university departments. You will be asked to think on your feet, manage tasks across multiple workstreams, and effectively leverage and apply your experience managing stakeholders. Here are the core duties:

  • Independently lead and direct projects requiring high levels of functional integration and involving multiple disciplines.
  • Work across departmental functions and communicate effectively with University partners and third-party entities.
  • Facilitate discussions and negotiations to drive recommendation consensus.
  • Document actions, decisions, and solutions so they can be easily understood and configured.
  • Provide clear project and executive-level status reporting.
  • Exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality when communicating or discussing privileged information.
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Establish and run a regular governance forum across stakeholder groups.
  • Perform the full project management lifecycle experience from scoping through delivery.
  • Confidently navigate and prioritizes business needs, resource management, schedules, and financials.
  • Manage and deliver large projects on time, within budget, and to a high level of quality.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize work and manage multiple projects/workstreams.
  • Ability to productively engage, support, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong consultative, presentation, and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to synthesize complex materials and communicate information in a way that is easily understood, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. .
  • Comfort, confidence, and poise when partnering with and facilitating groups from all levels within the university (students, faculty, staff, and senior executives).
  • Demonstrated resilience, diplomacy, influence, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills in a variety of situations.
    Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and with team members.
  • Proficiency in project management tools including project charters, project plans, roadmaps, risk registers, issue logs, decision-making models, change logs, and reports.
  • Strong quantitative skills and the ability to correlate data to articulate actionable insights.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of related experience in management of projects with extensive size/complexity and moderate performance risk, including project planning, scheduling, tracking, and budgeting, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Certifications and Licenses:

Project Management Professional (PMP) certified completion of a Project Management Certificate program, or certification in process.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Frequently sit, perform desk based computer tasks, and grasp lightly/fine manipulation and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Occasionally stand/walk, write by hand.
  • Rarely use a telephone, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulder, grasp forcefully.

The expected pay range for this position is $135,000 to $181,000 per annum.
Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
