Description
Position Purpose:
To assemble recorded footage and create a variety of visual assets that enhance the communication with our audience and stay consistent with the Director’s vision and Ministry branding and objectives. The goal is to enhance any promotions, and stories, along with other visual media, and create a polished and professional-looking end product that is also suitable for broadcasting.
Essential Duties:
- Create effective short promotions, themes, and slogans to properly communicate the Project
- Create effective static and motion-graphic elements and effects for use in promotions, stories, and other video projects
- Input music, dialogue, graphics and effects, trim and sequence footage segments seamlessly
- Able to write compelling short scripts, promos, product descriptions, and voiceover narratives
- Provide emotional branding for fundraising efforts and able to choose creative solutions that affect the quality of the end product
- Create rough and final cuts for various short-form projects, including social and digital media advertising, that move the audience to respond to a call to action
- Conduct talent interviews with pre-interview research
- Use DSLR and Canon cameras to capture video, photos, and sound content
- Continuously discover and implement new skills in editing technologies to maximize efficiencies
- Follow established archiving and formatting guidelines for video segments
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Must be able to effectively operate a Windows-based computer and navigate Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have a strong demonstrated talent for imaginative, original, and appropriate story and/or marketing promotional solutions
- Must have experience with digital tech. and editing software pkg. (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Encore, Photoshop, Final Cut)
- Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, continuity, etc.
- Creative mind, storytelling or journalism skills
- Highly effective written and interpersonal communication skills including tact and diplomacy
- Excellent with assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands
- Drone Operator ability is a plus
- Must be able to operate a Mac computer
- Must be highly responsible for handling expensive camera equipment
Requirements:
- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Must sign the Statement of Faith
- High school diploma or equivalent education is required
- Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred
- Film/Communications School credentials desirable
- Must pass all required checks
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in video editing is necessary.
- Compensation is commensurate with experience.
