Job Summary and Essential Functions
The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) applies cutting-edge technology to operating a reliable electricity system, managing competitive markets for wholesale electricity, and planning for the Empire State’s energy future. The NYISO’s office of General Counsel invites applications for a full-time Attorney.
The successful candidate will become a member of a highly-qualified team of professionals in an exciting, innovative and ever-changing environment. This position will advise on applicable labor and employments laws and provide significant support on human resource issues. These issues will include immigration matters, employee privacy and HIPAA matters, and contracts related to employee benefits. This position will also develop and update HR policies and guidelines and support relevant employee training. This position may also advise on general contract and corporate matters.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials is required.
- At least seven years of experience practicing labor and employment law is required.
- Admission to Bar in New York is desired.
