Transportation Office Dispatcher – Auburn, WA

Job Description

Albertsons Safeway is working to become the favorite food and drug retailer in every market it serves. Starting pay is $27.22 per hour, paid on weekly basis. This is a union position with union benefits. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (such as 401(k).

The Supply Chain Department has an opening for a Transportation Dispatcher. The shift for this position is Wednesday – Saturday, 4:00pm to 2:30am and it is located in Auburn, WA.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Assist in dispatch duties as needed and distribute work assignments as directed.
– Provide necessary support to ensure warehouse and transportation schedules are attained.
– Heavy interaction with stores, vendors and warehouse/manufacturing sites.
– Schedule daily workload and department personnel.
– Review employee paperwork for accuracy
– Maintain necessary documentation and files.
– Assist in monitoring department and individual employee performance.

Qualifications:
– Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
– Ability to handle heavy phones.
– Keen orientation to detail.
– Excellent organization skills and logical thinking.
– Strong verbal and written communications skills.
– Strong computer skills with knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing.
– Excellent follow through on daily tasks and projects.
– Ability to work flexible schedule.
– Knowledge of D.O.T. laws desired.
