Technical Project Task Manager

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as an Technical Project Task Manager. This position is in support the MEPCOM (Military Entrance Processing Command) program based in Northern Chicago, Illinois. Position is to support the USMEPCOM PMO.

Location: Onsite: Chicago, IL (Customer Site)

  • Ensures all activities are carried out in accordance with project commitments or specific objectives.
  • Responsible for day-to-day coordination and administration of tasks by ensuring quality and productivity standards are maintained while meeting client schedules.
  • Works with project manager and/or client to prepare work schedules and man-hour estimates.
  • Provides written management or program plans.
  • Responsible for status and task management reports for area of responsibility. May set up and manage project facilities. May be an individual contributor.
  • Responsible for updating the status of small technical projects supporting a larger technical program in accordance with contract requirements, company policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with project managers working in various sections to Acquire, analyze and document current project status and schedules against identified baselines.
  • Gather, research, analyze and develop briefing materials identifying the status, schedule, impacts, roadblocks and suggested next steps for current projects.
  • Brief corporate and government personnel (management, technical, etc.).

In addition, you will also

  • Assist with projects from original conception through final implementation. Interfacing with all areas affected by the project including end users, computer services, and client services.
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, estimates, resources, and status reports.
  • Attend and participate in various project meetings.
  • Responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
  • Provide limited technical and analytical guidance to project team.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • BS 5+, MS 3+ Program Management, Business Management or Information Technology; Minimum of 3 years of experience managing Software projects using the Scaled Agile Framework Minimum of 3 years of experience managing IT projects using Jira and Confluence
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Federal Government client Experienced in software and IT project management
  • Initiation, planning, execution, and closeout
  • Understands how traditional project management is tailored for agile software development Understands and can articulate when a given IT project should embrace agile or waterfall
  • Current PMP certification
  • Current IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security + CE, CCNA Security, SSCP, GSEC) or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Solid knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) with MS-Project, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Able to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation and the ability to pass additional background investigations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Business management, Program management, Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience supporting a DoD customer
  • 5+ years of experience managing IT projects using Jira and Confluence Experience with use of Initiatives and Advanced Road Maps Experience transitioning teams from using waterfall to agile
  • Possess an Active SECRET level clearance

Range for Posting

Salary Minimum: $57,500
Salary Mid: $115,000
Salary Maximum: $143,800

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton’s total compensation package for employees.
