The Boulder County Parks & Open Space Department is seeking to hire a Trailhead Park TechnicianCome work for Boulder County’s beautiful park system set in the foothills of Colorado! Get the chance to interact with appreciative park users, spot a variety of wildlife at the trailheads, and take in the picturesque mountain views during your workdays.This position is an opportunity to practice your problem-solving skills and work with your hands in an outdoor setting for a community that holds their parks and open spaces in high regardThe main job function will include routine trash/recycling collection, restroom servicing, and general maintenance of our park trailhead facilities. In addition, they may have the opportunity to perform a variety of work duties relating to other historic preservation projects managed by our team. Seasonal Park Technicians will perform all methods of construction/building maintenance (with the exception of Electrical & HVAC systems), work primarily in outdoor locations, and regularly use available resources such as hand and power tools for necessary jobs.

This is an hourly, non-benefited position with an anticipated end within 30 weeks.This position will work Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 5:30pm & Tuesday – Friday 7:00am – 5:30pm. this position will work at 5201 St. Vrain Rd. in Longmont, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.

Hiring Salary Range: $22.44 Hourly
Tentative Hiring Timeline:

  • Phone Screening: Week of August 1st
  • First Round Interviews: Week of August 8th
  • Reference Checks: Week of August 10th

Examples of Duties

  1. Performing light construction and maintenance on park facilities
  2. Routine trailhead trash and recycling pick-up
  3. Servicing park restrooms and implementing sanitation efforts
  4. Using and maintaining various tools
  5. Performing semi-skilled duties in the operation of hand tools, power tools, vehicles, and equipment
  6. Performing various manners of construction/building maintenance (with the exception of Electrical & HVAC systems)
  7. Assisting with historic building rehabilitation and preservation projects
  8. Performs related duties as required
  9. May be reassigned in emergency situations

DRIVER’S LICENSE:
