Details:
A Structural Engineer job is currently available at Belcan in Windsor, CT. This is a full-time direct job with benefits. Great matching candidates will need a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. In this role, you will conduct structural analyses of a wide variety of component designs utilizing advanced analytical and CAD tools. This includes turbo machinery and airframe components, mechanical systems & controls, and tooling & instrumentation for commercial and military jet engines.
Structural Engineer job duties:
* Perform structural analyses using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and post-process results
* Provide technical recommendations for optimizing hardware designs and modeling approach
* Review structural test plans and reports
* Create and present substantiation documentation of analysis results
* Support data acquisition/ reduction of hardware vibration environment measurements
* Support hardware certification testing
* Review non-conformance/ damage reports
* Interface with customers, hardware suppliers, and participate in design reviews / trade studies
Requirements:
* BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or related field
* 5+ years’ experience
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* Due to the nature of our work *US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED*
* Experience using FEA software like Ansys
Preferred Skills:
* Experience using Ansys Workbench or Classic
* Experience evaluating stress and life of parts under vibration
* Experience with gas turbine components
* Aircraft engine controls and accessories experience
Nice-to-have Skills:
* Experience performing fracture mechanics / damage tolerance analysis
* NASGRO experience
* Vibration testing experience
* Aerospace experience
The salary range for this role is $85k to $115k; however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate”s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
