Maintain the grounds and buildings. Keep the grounds clean and safe for Customers and other workers.
Maintenance
- Participate in groundskeeping duties including mowing & trimming, string trimmer use, herbicide application, and watering
- Use proper PPE and procedures when trimming trees and operating machinery, including mowers, trimmers, and power tools
- Assist with landscaping maintenance and updates
- Repair and maintain buildings including painting, drywall, and carpentry
- Troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, and other building issues for structures around the lake
- Assist with plumbing repairs including full fixture replacement and repair, caulking, and preventative maintenance
- Assist with electrical repairs
- Ensure the lake and surrounding camp sites are free of litter and safety hazards
- Inspect playgrounds, picnic tables, docks, and other structures open to the public
- Repair small and medium equipment and machinery
- Safely use and maintain all equipment
- Clean buildings and other areas open to the public
- Weld and repair structures and fixtures
- Make substantial repairs to electrical hookups at campsites
Customer Relations
- Field customer questions or complaints
- Meet with customers to provide face-to-face customer service
- Make every effort to assist customers, and escalate the situation to supervisor if needed
Construction Projects
- Assist with new constructions and updates under the direction of the Assistant Park Superintendent
- Assist with concrete work as directed
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. One year of Grounds and building maintenance experience. Per Sedgwick County policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid Kansas driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance.
Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from a trade school in a related field. Journeyman’s license in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or a related field.
