Arcadis is seeking a Technical Director for Biosolids Processing and Digester Design to join our North American Water Business Line. This role could be in in any of our Midwest locations in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Minnesota or Buffalo, NY.

Role description:
The Technical Director will collaborate with national and regional business development leaders and technical experts across the country to enhance delivery capabilities and implement winning strategies to support the growth all types of biosolids work with a focus on digester design and rehabilitation projects and programs.
Role accountabilities:
The position requires a recognized expert in digester design and rehabilitation including mixing, heating, and cover systems with demonstrated success as a high-level seller-doer and the ability to accomplish the following:
- Provide industry-wide perspective to understand the current conditions, emerging client needs, regulatory drivers and other factors influencing the biosolids and digestion market.
- Support the development and implementation of regional strategies for business development, project delivery and quality.
- Participate in major digester, thickening and related biosolids pursuits, and serve as the technical leader for digester projects won.
- Contribute to innovative approaches and value propositions to accelerate growth and enhance our position in the market.
- Further the growth of a national biosolids team by coordinating existing experts and those recruited into an integrated national team.
- Maintain high visibility via key roles in professional organizations, conferences, and publications.
- Mentor technical staff and collaborate with regional leaders in recruiting, hiring and retention.
- Travel is required up to 40% (30% regionally and 10% nationally).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in civil or environmental engineering
- Professional Engineer
- Minimum of 20 years experience of residuals/biosolids handling and processing experience including anaerobic digestion, advanced sludge minimization processes, methane recovery and re-use, and ancillary pumping, mixing, heating and cover systems to support digestion.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Recognized expert with extensive experience in the implementation of digester design and rehabilitation projects.
- Proven experience in client management, including: building relationships, establishing opportunity pipelines, managing pursuits, developing proposals and interviews, preparing and negotiating scopes.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated ability to effectively deliver client presentations, prepare written reports and communicate technical concepts
- Self-motivated and flexible with the ability and desire to work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously with strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven interpersonal and relationship skills with demonstrated success recruiting, mentoring and motivating junior staff in technical and business development career tracks.
- Active participation, such as committee membership, in regional and national WEF and Biosolids organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Collaborative project delivery experience (DB, CMAR, etc.)

We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on start date, and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $124,700 – $187,050.
