NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range

$56,100 – $107,800

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking a Tactical Planner to join our team! You will play a vital role as the Facilities Building Manager who will be responsible for the immediate and short-term management of facility needs. You will support the Facilities Area Manager (FAM) and Facilities Portfolio Manager (FacPM) for all building and customer solutions. In this position, you will be assigned a specific portfolio of space and a customer base for which they are responsible.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Team with members reporting to the FAM, Space Tactical Planners, and Strategic Space Planners to develop cross-divisional building management options, recommendations, and solutions to increase space utilization.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience with building types, design basis of spaces and occupancy to conduct scope development studies for laboratory, office, storage, and conference rooms.
  • Ensure that HVAC, electrical and communication infrastructure, and physical layout will meet customer needs and expectations.

Maintenance:

  • Perform daily walkthroughs of assigned buildings identifying issues, maintaining customer relations, performing field verification of work, and collecting information for Service Request (SR) scoping.
  • Review and submit maintenance service requests through the Maximo enterprise database system and provide resolution to issues within the committed time and/or customer target date.
  • Schedule and communicate maintenance activities (Planned and Corrective Maintenance) with building occupants and ensure work is complete per scope-of-work without impact to customer productivity.

Project Work:

  • Review project, facility drawings, floor plans and work with the Computer Aided Drafting and Design team.
  • Update Maximo information database system and related technology applications.
  • Develop the scope, budget, and authorize building modifications

Construction Work:

  • Review and accept minor construction work including maintenance and FE projects utilizing your experience in different fields including architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical.
  • Clearly communicate with architects and engineers and negotiate customer requirements and limitations
  • Support analyses for Preliminary Real Estate Plans (PREPs), Division Facility and Infrastructure (F&I) Plans, the DOE Facility Information Management System (FIMS), and other plans and studies, as requested.

Qualifications We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Construction, Business, or other facilities related field; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience (Associate’s + 4 years of experience, no degree + 8 years of experience)
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management Software) like an IBM Facilities Management System (i.e. Tririga, Maximo) or similar software systems
    • MS Office products (Excel, etc.), and/or database management.
    • Managing non-residential properties
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE L-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Formal credential in Facilities Management, such as: Facilities Management Professional (FMP, IFMA), Certified Facility Manager (CFM, IFMA), Certificate in Facilities Management (from an accredited institution), Facilities Management Certificate (FMC, BOMI International), Facilities Management Administrator (FMA, BOMI International).
  • Knowledge of Sandia’s facility and operational policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting facility management and operations.
  • Ability to exercise initiative as well as the acumen to manage and complete multiple priorities.
  • Ability to clearly communicate the status of policies, reports, decisions, and deliverables.
  • Understanding of all AE fields with the ability to develop detailed scopes of work.
  • Active DOE L or Q clearance.

This includes office, laboratory and computer type facilities, high explosive areas, nuclear facilities, and major distributed energy sites.
