Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a driven Systems/Database Administrator to join our team on-site supporting a very unique customer in the Washington, DC area. Our unique program provides information management and information technology (IT) support for critical technical work to operate and maintain the classified networks for executive-level government leaders.
Our program delivers high-profile, technical infrastructure support for our customer and its relative nodes over the world. The team provides Personnel Management, Systems Engineering and administration, Software Engineering (Sharepoint Development and Project Management/Systems Integration support), and Facility Management (Voice/Video Network Integration and Engineering) solutions.
The Systems/Database Administrator will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.
- Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency. Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
- Under general direction, implements, monitors, and reorganizes databases, codes, tests, implements, and maintains database architectures.
- Executes utility requirements such as reorganization, back-up and recovery.
- Analyzes and resolves database system production problems.
- Analyzes user requirements and statistics, and participates in database design and performance evaluation reviews.
- Advises systems engineers on database coding issues.

** This program provides 24/7 on-call support. Most work can be accomplished during core hours 0600-1800, Monday-Friday. After core hours an “on call” support and occasional work may be required outside those times, including holidays and weekends as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- An active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or Mathematics with five (5+) years of experience, or a Masters Degree with three (3+) years of experience, or a PhD with no years of experience, or a High-school Diploma/GED with nine (9+) years of applicable work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirements
- At least five (5) years of experience in SQL database management and Linux administration and infrastructure.
- A current/valid IAT LVL II (Security +) certification or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or Mathematics with seven (7) years of experience, or a Masters Degree with five (5) years of experience, or a PhD with two (2) years of experience, or a High-school Diploma/GED with 11 years of applicable work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirements
- At least three (3) years of experience with MySql and PostgreSQL database administration and infrastructure is preferred but not required.

Target Salary Range
$112,000 – $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
