Summary:
The Senior Advisor performs a broad set of general management activities for a large co-branded credit card program designed to meet the everyday payment needs of cardholders. Primary responsibilities of this high-profile role include strategic and tactical business planning, product development/enhancement, product marketing, new account acquisition, cardholder portfolio management, market and competitive analysis, business analysis and forecasting, contract administration, and the day-to-day management of bank and payment network relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements credit card program enhancements and value propositions through analyzing product portfolio performance, consumer behavior and preferences, competitive best practices, and product economics. Maintains a balance between cardholder value and revenue to ensure sustainable program long-term growth.
- Responsible for the overall market and financial performance of the credit card program with accountability for meeting annual balanced scorecard objectives. Works with external stakeholders to develop, economically justify, and execute strategic and tactical plans to secure material program penetration, cardholder spend, and revenue growth.
- Develops insightful, fact-based business and product reviews, market analyses, competitive profiles, customer segment analyses, financial forecasts, and process evaluations that serve as the basis for actionable strategy development, implementation planning, and performance assessment.
- Initiates, plans and manages complex business initiatives throughout the entire project lifecycle using diverse cross-functional project teams that include personnel from external stakeholders.
- Uses informal influencing and collaboration skills to achieve positive outcomes with diverse internal and external stakeholders in the following functional areas: marketing, market research, legal, finance, e-Business, technology, user experience/customer service, risk management, information security, compliance and data analytics.
- Serve as the internal voice of the card member by providing feedback and suggestions to enhance the overall experience. Monitors card member satisfaction metrics and performance tracking processes. Analyzes trends and key findings of card member satisfaction tools, identifying opportunities and owning action plans to improve satisfaction.
- Manages the administration of credit card agreements to ensure contract-governing benefits are maximized, rights are extended, and that all parties are complying with contract terms.
- Occasional business travel (<15%)
Requirements, Competencies and Certifications:
- Strong experience in credit card programs and working with banks and card user stakeholders.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of credit card marketing, annual/seasonal marketing planning, marketing campaign analysis, card member loyalty and retention.
- Experience with large co-branded or affinity product programs highly desired.
- Proven informal influencing, consensus building, conflict resolution, and contract negotiation skills.
- Superior organizational and project management skills, with experience managing complex projects from conception through to completion or implementation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with in-depth experience developing and presenting strategy recommendations, business cases, market assessments and implementation plans to all stakeholder management levels.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project) with well-developed quantitative analysis and modeling skills. Experience with Tableau preferred.
- Experienced utilizing diverse online and mobile marketing and servicing channels to improve customer value and business results.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
- Uses time effectively; anticipates obstacles, adjusts priorities as needs change and keeps others informed of progress.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in marketing, business administration, mathematics, finance, economics or e-commerce). Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field preferred.
- Eight (8) to Ten (10) years of experience in credit card program management in the retail financial services, consumer products/services, or management consulting industries that includes performance management, marketing strategy definition and execution.
Hiring Range:
- $105,478 – $122.618
- Position eligible for participation in AAA, Inc. Annual Incentive Plan.
