Supervisor Food Service Sanitation

SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Food Service Sanitation Manager, the Food Service Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily work performed by food sanitation workers, cashiers and other workers assigned to them at Nellis Air Force Base (NAFB) dining facilities. This position will also provide the manual labor to assist and ensure completion of all periodic tasks as stated in the contract statement of work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supervise and work with employees and individuals with disabilities, as a team to ensure the day-to-day operations is compliant with the statement of work assigned.
  2. Schedule and designate shift and area work assignments in accordance with precedence.
  3. Provide Food Service Sanitation Manager with information regarding staff performance or any issues or concerns to assist in evaluations and corrective actions.
  4. Ensure proper documentation is complete (I.D notes, incident reports).
  5. Perform daily and monthly quality assurance inspections/reports and assist in the orientation of new employees to ensure training is conducted and that all work is performed in accordance with contract requirements and scope of work.
  6. Operate when needed the Point of Sale (POS) register and perform basic currency handling as well as the verification of safe deposits at the start and end of shifts.
  7. Ensure that changes to scope of work, methods, materials, or environment that can impact standards are addressed immediately and standards are reviewed and revised as needed.
  8. Submit supply orders and maintain inventory control.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a cohesive team.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate, respond to inquiries and interpret instructions from management, contract representatives, staff personnel and workers with disabilities.
  • Ability to define problems, collection of data, establishes facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and count/exchange money.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Computer literate.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or its equivalent and three (3) years of verifiable work experience in the food service industry, with two (2) of those years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Required: Valid Nevada Drivers License and a clean annual DMV report and must be twenty one (21) years of age in order to be eligible to drive company vehicles. Must complete and pass the Smith’s Driving Training Course administered by Opportunity Village.
