The temporary Summer Energy Efficiency Installer Apprentices performs energy-conserving improvements in homes for the Energy Solutions division of CHP. This temporary position is a great opportunity to gain exposure and experience in providing energy-related improvements in accordance with the Weatherization Assistance Program, Standard Work Specifications, building code requirements, and the requirements of regulatory agencies with oversight of implemented programs. Daily work includes the implementation of construction and retrofit measures to increase the health and safety of client homes. This position requires some technical skills, initiative, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Starting pay is $18 per hour, with full benefits. Temporary assignment is from May – August. Opportunities for full-time permanent employment available. We are hiring for two apprentices in Christiansburg and two in Winchester.

Education and/or Experience
• Must be 18 years of age
• High School diploma or GED, with specialized vocational certification or training preferred
Working hours may vary with project load, but the customary schedule is Monday – Thursday from 7:00 am-5:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break, with occasionally adjusted hours of five 8-hour days. This position requires daytime travel to various worksites; overnight travel may be required for worksites located further away from the office, as well as occasional evening hours. Regular attendance and punctuality are necessary for success.
