The StratOps team promotes and elevates the business within our markets, works with customers and competition to influence and drive the growth of Ball Aerospace and facilitates collaboration across the business enterprise to increase opportunities.

Strategic Development Specialist II

The Strategic Operations (StratOps) Strategic Capabilities Unit (SCU) consists of Washington, D.C. Operations, Marketing & Communications, and Strategic Development. The StratOps team promotes and elevates the business within our markets, works with customers and industry to influence and drive the growth of Ball Aerospace and facilitates collaboration across the business enterprise.

The Strategic Development Specialist II will facilitate the development, implementation, and communication of the Ball Aerospace Strategic Plan, while fostering increased strategy acumen and a strategic mindset among internal stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:

  • Facilitate the strategic planning process in collaboration with StratOps and enterprise strategic plan leads.
  • Manage and coordinate implementation of the strategic plan.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and best practices to build strategy acumen.
  • Lead continuous feedback and improvement exercises.
  • Serve as the StratOps lead point of contact for strategic planning with SCUs.
  • Support enterprise goal development and implementation.
  • Develop content to support internal strategy-focused discussions and engagements.
  • Manage and align external events, memberships, and sponsorships, in coordination with Strat Ops, SBUs and SCUs, with enterprise strategic plan.
  • Maintain coordination of DC event attendance, in alignment with strategic plan priorities.
  • Be active in valuing diversity (of thought, background, gender, race/ethnicity) and inclusion for greater effectiveness and innovation.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule in accordance with company policy.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What You’ll Need:

  • BS/BA in a related field plus 4 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Experience in strategic planning.
  • Interest and knowledge in physical sciences, engineering, technology, and aerospace.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to quickly determine and communicate relevant information and intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Working knowledge of the following preferred: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • A current, active Top Secret government security clearance is preferred.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
  • Approximately 10% business travel required

A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access. Compensation & Benefits:

  • HIRING SALARY RANGE: $87,000 – $117,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
