POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Alcyon Technical Services located at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio is hiring a Still Imaging Specialist.
Major Responsibilities
- Capture high-quality digital photographic images of hardware, components, test specimens, test successes and failures, facilities, and incidents/accidents.
- Photography services also include the business and outreach activities of the Center document congressional delegation tours, high-ranking NASA, other government agency visits, industry, and academia official visits. The Digital Imaging Specialist must be able to Edit, format, re-touch, color correct and output images (both digital and film-based archive images) to photographic paper output and catalog the imagery in the GRC Image archive. Incumbent will perform other duties as assigned.
- Manage and distribute projects and assignments
- Responsible for compliance with TIALS 2 Safety, Health and Environmental Plan and all safety policies and procedures of the Company, including reporting of safety violations or potential violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.
- Comply with all Alcyon Technical Services (ATS) Joint Venture, LLC Policies, Procedures and Directives in the performance of duties under the TIALS 2 contract
- Capture high-quality, digital photographic images of hardware, components, test specimens, test successes and failures, facilities, and incidents.
- Capture business and outreach activities, such as official visits, tours, events, and award ceremonies.
- Determine desired images and picture composition, selecting and adjusting subjects, equipment, and lighting to achieve desired effects.
- Portrait photography.
- Set in-studio and location lighting using flashes and reflectors.
- Use traditional or digital, still or video cameras, along with a variety of photography equipment.
- Edit, enhance, format, re-touch, color correct and output images in a variety of formats, including print.
- Maintains NASA Technical Standard NASA-STD-2822 with final imagery and associate metadata.
- Maintain the internal media asset management system.
- Produce content for social media platforms.
- Determine customer needs, meeting quality standards for services and customer satisfaction.
- Capture high-quality digital photographic images of hardware, components, test specimens, test successes and failures, facilities, and incidents/accidents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Required Education and Experience:
Requires a BA or 8 yrs. experience in photography or 2 years’ experience in lieu of every year of formal education.
Skills:
- Any combination of education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described. A typical qualifying background would include a bachelor’s degree in photography
