General Description
OPEN UNTIL FILLED
This position conducts backstage and technical production activities for rental and non-profit needs, and provides technical evaluation and support to all City venues and rentals as needed. Work is performed under direct supervision of the Production Manager.
This position is non-exempt. Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provisions will apply.

Primary Duties
- Works closely with performers, renters and non-profits to meet show deadlines and goals.
- Understands and interpret stage plots and theatrical stage schematics, as well as timelines pertaining to show rentals.
- Operates lighting or audio consoles for performances as assigned.
- Provides setup assistance prior to events.
- Evaluates and recommends rentals and non-profit events to determine technical needs and requirements for events.
- Programs or designs lighting for events as needed.
- Works on multiple duties independently and simultaneously to ensure events and shows run smoothly.
- Facilitates and assists a show crew for load-in, show and load-out.
- Solves problems under pressure while maintaining composure and interacting with others in a positive and respectful manner.
- Assists other City departments with audio/video (A/V) needs, including video editing.
- Required to work rotating shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays as directed.
- Assists the Production Manager.
- Performs equipment maintenance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of technical stage operations experience for a variety of live entertainment productions.
- Solid understanding of theatrical lighting and audio/video principles.
- Preferred knowledge and experience in theatrical rigging, operating and programming ETC Lighting Consoles (Eos Family), familiarity with Behringer X32 digital studio consoles, and audio signal flow; troubleshooting with rental/show-provided equipment and technicians; and video systems to include signal flow, video switching components, and general audio visual.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD, VectorWorks, and Outlook.
- Ability to work nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License.
An equivalent combination of higher education and experience may be considered, provided that the education and is in a relevant and related field.

Physical Demands
- Frequent walking and standing for periods of time, climbing, stooping, reaching, and bending.
- Frequent lifting of objects in excess of 50 pounds.
- Good finger/hand dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
- Good eyesight, hearing, and speech.
- Regular driving of vehicle.
- Works in exposed elevated areas; operates a single-man genie lift, and/or scissor lift. (Must be comfortable working in heights in excess of 30 feet)
Work Environment
Works inside an environmentally controlled space but may also work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat/cold) for extended periods. Intermittent exposure to bright/dim lights, dust/pollen, noise, and moving vehicles/machinery, etc. It is essential that the employee in the position is alert to safety hazards.
