Sr. Technical Program Manager – Antenna Software, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

The Role:

The Project Kuiper team is looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager with experience in Software and Firmware development, electrical or RF engineering, and program management. The role will interface with cross-functional engineering and program management teams to develop Software and Firmware that will go into satellite antennas. In this role you will:

– Collaborate with SW TPMs and Software and Hardware engineering leaders to develop Phased Array Antenna embedded software requirements (including test and manufacturing software) and identify cross-functional dependencies.

– Work with cross-functional teams to create project plans and incremental milestones for Software development.

– Work within program management team to ensure that the Software development meets program-level schedule and quality requirements.

– Collaborate with software, hardware, and test engineers to identify, drive, and track cross-functional deliverables.

– Support software bringup on early hardware, and pre-release software testing.

– Drive root cause analysis and issue resolution.

– Provide written and verbal status on a regular cadence.

You must be fully competent in a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project life-cycle and exhibit demonstrated proficiency in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting, and metric development/tracking.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/EE or equivalent experience.

– Overall 5+ years work experience in Software and/or hardware development

– 3+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or in a technical role with systems experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience in Firmware and FPGA logic development

– Master’s degree in computer science/computer engineering/EE or equivalent experience.

– Track record of successfully delivering complete systems (hardware, firmware, software, algorithms) on time, to scope, with high quality.

– Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.

– Maturity, judgment, and proven ability to lead and influence others.

– Independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction.

– High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.

– Experience developing Software, Firmware, and FPGA for aerospace applications or systems operating in extreme environments

– Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals

– Track record for being detail-oriented

– Proven ability to synthesize and communicate solutions to complex technical problems

– Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
