Amazon Direct Import Product Compliance empowers vendors and internal partners to efficiently move compliant and safe products across borders at scale. We are looking for a smart, energetic, hard-working, and creative Sr. Regulatory Program Manager to support our rapidly growing and evolving businesses. The successful candidate will have a strong combination of trade and product compliance knowledge, project management skills, and regulatory subject matter expertise. This is an exciting and challenging position that provides product compliance support to Amazon’s Retail business by acting as the SME leader to a team obsessed with ensuring Amazon’s successful adherence with import compliance requirements.
Key job responsibilities
-Identify, scope, and communicate global regulatory requirements and provide early notice of potential changes to requirements
-Build, implement, and launch policies to operationalize global and regional regulatory and compliance requirements at scale
-Act as a key interface and representative between the global program, operations, tech, legal and business stakeholders
-Develop relationships with relevant industry bodies to obtain insights and help shape the regulatory landscape
-Partner with Amazon’s internal technology teams to develop best-in-class compliance business processes and systems that scale
-Drive continuous improvement to program and operations capabilities, strategies and practices
-Develop and maintain accurate metrics that demonstrate program health and risk
A day in the life
In this role no two days will be exactly the same but regular activities will include:
-Developing and communicating regulatory analysis and recommendations for managing compliance requirements for new and innovative business initiatives
-Partnering with business, legal and operations partners to develop strategies to support rapid growth of Amazon’s import programs
-Collaborating with technical teams to define requirements for Amazon’s systems, driving relevant import and export programs
-Streamlining and improving regulatory monitoring and risk mitigation strategies and processes

We build import/export solutions to place the right products in the right destinations at the right time and cost. We expertly navigate increasing regulatory compliance complexity to mitigate risk, increase predictability and earn trust with external stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
-A Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field, Regulatory, Trade, Compliance or related
-5+ years of experience in Regulatory, Trade, or Compliance, working in a highly-regulated industry (Chemicals, Environmental, Children’s products, Medical Devices)
-5+ years of experience in project management and delivering cross-functional projects
-Experience understanding, troubleshooting, and describing highly complex technical processes and issues to non-technical colleagues
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Graduate Degree (Masters, JD, or PhD)
-PMP Certification or equivalent Project Management certification
-Licensed Customs Broker or Trade Compliance professional with experience managing Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements
-Strong oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including senior leadership
-The ability to use data to prioritize complex projects, identify trends, support conclusions, and drive root cause remediation
-The ability to use both formal and informal influencing skills and drive regulatory clarity across a matrixed organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
