The Opportunity:
Mattel’s direct to consumer business has an ambitious growth agenda and is on the journey to scaling into a global organization.
As the Senior Manager, Consumer Data & Analytics, you will oversee and support Data & Analytics capabilities across the Ecommerce & DTC department. This role will accelerate our digital transformation by developing data-driven insights that guide smarter, faster decisions and plans across the consumer experience, from marketing to digital properties and more.
You will manage a team of analysts who service multiple areas of the organization, providing insights and recommendations to both partners within the department and our broader partner teams across the company, including brand teams, media and others.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Data & Analytics leadership
- Establish and execute the vision for comprehensive Ecommerce/DTC reporting and analytics
- Define the reporting ecosystem and approach for supporting our partners, including which tools will be used for which purposes and for which internal audiences
- Collaborate with partners including CRM and MarTech Product Management to define data standards and best practices to support accurate and actionable insights
- Ensure that all Ecommerce/DTC projects, new capabilities etc. include data and reporting requirements during the development process to ensure consistent and reliable reporting and analysis
- Build a Digital Data and Analytics team –
- Organize team roles and responsibilities in support of all business units, partners etc.
- Liaise with D2C business unit leads and regional leads to understand and document requirements for data & analytics needs
- Lead the team in designing and managing DTC dashboards, marketing and media reporting, consumer analysis and web analytics
- Act as subject matter expert for reporting and analytic tools, including Tableau, Google Data Studio/Looker, GA etc.
- Ensure team is consistently providing insights and recommendations to improve results and drive business impact
- Build team knowledge of and comfort with using Mattel’s Google Big Query “data lake” for deeper analytics
- Guide all ad hoc analyses to ensure appropriate methodology and execution
- Develop team’s skills in understanding how to translate business questions into insights; approach and methodology; and individual tool expertise
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years of senior Data & Analytics experience required
- Experience with enterprise Data & Analytics tools and methodologies is required
- Experience defining a Data & Analytics strategy aligned with operational, tactical, strategic and advanced analytics business requirements required
- Expertise in SQL required, as well as experience with R or other programming languages required
- Expertise in GA, GTM and GBQ required
- Experience with Tableau and GDS (Looker) required
- Prior experience within a direct-to-consumer retail and multi-brand environment is required
- Strong understanding of data architecture, data flows etc. and their impact on reporting and analytics capabilities
- 5+ years managing a team of 2 or more analysts, with strong people management skills
- Understanding of emerging trends in e-commerce, personalization and digital marketing
- Able to be self-directed and proactively manage and direct multiple projects and team members simultaneously.
- Ability to build partnerships and influence without authority across cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated experience of senior leadership, relationship and communication skills. Highly effective oral, written, presentation, organizational and interpersonal skills.
The annual base salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $172,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
