ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for people who are excited by distributed systems and database technologies. Expect to have a lot of influence over the system we are creating. You will take ownership of projects, drive design decisions and build scalable and stable systems through designing clean and usable APIs. You’ll contribute to an architecture that anticipates large deployments and can handle scale. Our ideal candidate will have passion for crafting exceptional engineering solutions, striving for improving performance and helping customers succeed.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000/year to $200,000/year.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement distributed systems for fast low-latency data and query processing.
- Architect systems with high reliability even amidst one or more system failures.
- Implement distributed data processing with high efficiency and resource usage to reduce total system costs.
- Take ownership of projects, drive design decisions and build scalable and stable systems.
- Design clean, usable APIs and write customer consumable documentation for the same.
- Build custom test harness and ensure quality of the software and systems built.
- Contribute to an architecture that anticipates large deployments and can handle scale.
- Improve system operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
- Support customer onboarding and escalations by triaging issues, troubleshooting and devising workarounds or implementing product enhancements.
- Understand and implement company’s security policies and architecture to secure and protect customer and company data.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers by providing feedback and learning opportunities.
Requirements
- A master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; and
- Three years’ professional experience in software engineering. Experience must include engineering scalable distributed systems.
