URM Stores, Inc. is looking for an experienced, detail oriented professional with a full range of Human Resources experience to join our onsite team as our Sr. HR Generalist. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, our ideal candidate will have solid work experience with general human resources administration, HRIS processes, managing programs, and excel at a variety of mid-to high level Human Resource responsibilities. This role is highly visible and requires excellent communication skills, problem solving ability, and the ability to become a trusted resource to our employees. The Sr. HR Generalist will join a group of similarly minded HR professionals who enjoy working as a collaborative team and support system.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide URM’s Human Resources team with forward thinking in processes, while applying best practices in planning, implementing, communicating, and supporting human resources programs.
  • As an HR ambassador to departments, answer questions on Company policies, procedures, and HR programs.
  • Manage and maintain job descriptions and administer the performance management program, and compensation module.
  • As a primary system administrator this position will maintain and utilize Company information management systems (HR database, Excel spreadsheets, etc.) to design and develop ad hoc custom reports from those platforms, adapting to business needs as required.
  • Facilitate accurate, timely entry and maintenance of employee data, including but not limited to defining specifications for uploading mass changes into the system; makes recommendations on structure and system changes to improve processes and data integrity.
  • Conduct research, collect, and analyze data and make recommendations to Vice President of HR.
  • Participate in assigned projects and the enterprise security team representing the HR department.
  • Support URM’s culture through collaboration and professional interactions with employees, promoting employee engagement while helping to plan employee activities and fostering employee recognition through internal systems.
  • Manage the all termination off-boarding processes, including termination paperwork and proper documentation.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in HRIS and create reports from system as needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality for sensitive Human Resources data, issues, and projects.
  • Ensure data integrity in all HR systems with timely and accurate entry and gather data through HR technology systems.
  • Other duties and projects will be assigned as the business needs require.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Must be able to work onsite , Monday-Friday, and have excellent attendance.
  • Must have polished and professional demeanor, with a high degree of integrity, sound judgement, adaptability, and resourcefulness.
  • Minimum of 5-years of progressive responsibilities in a variety of HR functions or a combination of progressive HR experience paired with a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Communication Studies, Business Administration, or another related field.
  • Minimum of SHRM-CP or PHR certification is required, however , if certification is not held, candidate MUST successfully obtain certification within one year of start date.
  • This onsite position must work effectively with team members both in the department and with subsidiary teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel to include but not limited to the following:

o PivotTable data

o Use of formulas

o Ability to build pie charts and graphs

o Sorting and summarizing data to meet specific business needs

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment with fluidity amidst multiple projects, shifting priorities, and competing deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are a must to be successful in this position.
  • Must have demonstrated working experience in configuring HR information system platforms.
  • Experience with Paylocity or other cloud-based system is a plus!
  • Demonstrated skills in system report writing & analysis, database management and record keeping along with the ability to extract meaningful data.
  • Strong understanding of best practices for HR processes, employment laws, and data flow including eligibility requirements, enrollment rules, employee benefits, timekeeping and wage and hour laws.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills including creating communications for employee engagement activities
  • Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.
