Overview

We are seeking a Public Relations (PR) Director to design and implement marketing strategies that cultivate our relationships with media, engage our target audience and boost our brand awareness.

If you’re interested in leading our PR efforts, writing effective press releases, building online communities, and coordinating events, we would like to meet you. You will use your creative ideas to drive PR initiatives that’ll bring long-term success. Also, you’ll coordinate with internal teams (e.g. Marketing and Communications) to maximize brand consistency in all advertising efforts.

Ultimately, you will promote and maintain a positive image of our company while ensuring a strong online and offline brand presence.

This role will pay a salary of $110,000 to $120,000.

Responsibilities

  • Set objectives for the PR efforts and performance metrics, such as SMART goals and OKR’s.
  • Maximize brand presence on various channels (e.g. web, TV, print, and social media)
    • Including but not limited to Pollstar, VenuesNow, Billboard, Sports Business Journal, Sport Techie, News12, Fox, Newsday, Anton, and others.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media, influential professionals, and local groups.
    • Including but not limited to writers, radio and TV hosts, social influencers, and community groups, such as Consulates, chambers, non-profit organizations, professional networks, industry associations, business organizations, etc.
  • Liaise with the Director of external affairs to ensure public-facing alignment for government agencies.
  • Arrange interviews and press releases to promote our company and its products/services.
    • Including but not limited to event releases and other pillars of the organization. (Sustainability, transportation, DEI, etc.)
  • Pitch stories that highlight the venue’s success and amazing staff, aggressively pursuing stories, coverage, and award nominations.
  • Organize PR events to increase awareness of our company.
    • Manage and coordinate presser events with and without larger arena events, including new launches, fight week events, press conferences, new partnership announcements, or community outreach events as needed.
  • Event PR coordination, including but not limited to house photo & video, tour media guest coordination, etc.
  • Host media at top-tier events at the venue to establish continued rapport.
  • Report on PR campaigns’ results to the leadership team.
  • Manage sensitive issues to maintain the company’s good reputation and other crisis control as necessary.
  • Coordinate with marketing to ensure brand narrative consistency and alignment with advertising efforts.

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as a Public Relations (PR) Director, PR Manager or similar role
  • Solid experience coordinating successful PR campaigns.
  • Extremely well-organized and able to multi-task effectively and work under extremely tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to think critically and problem-solve.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the confidence to serve as the company’s spokesperson if needed.

  • BS in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a relevant field
