About the Job
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Tailored Brands Real Estate team as Senior Director of Construction, Design, and Store Facilities, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Real Estate. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end construction process and execution of company new store and remodel capital plan including planning for total and individual project budgets, store planning and design as well as involvement with major fixture and building materials procurement. The Senior Director will oversee the direction of Store’s Facilities to ensure effective and consistent support of TBI’s store fleets, collaborate with Field and Operations Management to ensure process and execution is effective and repeatable, and Direct goal setting and strategy creation to ensure proactive management of company resources.
What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities
- Oversees Sr Managers of Con struction, Design and, Stores Facilities. Ensures collaboration and communication with outside vendors and general contractors to deliver projects on time and on budget. Actively seeks partnership and alignment across the organization. Strong project management skills with the ability to participate in onsite construction projects, not typical to participate however the subject matter knowledge is critical.
- Individual should have strong ability to identify and breakdown process issues, as well as proven change management experience.
- Partners with Strategic Procurement to ensure fixture purchasing program consistently delivers timely support for all projects.
- Partners with cross functional executive team to develop a new store prototype which is cost conscience, repeatable and reflective of our brand direction. Establishes and fosters a relationship with each brand leader, practicing open communication and ensuring Construction, Design and Store’s Facilities teams are successfully supporting all initiatives.
- Oversees a comprehensive review and reset of construction project timelines and capital spend, establishing standards for periodic analysis and review. Develops annual capital plan with senior management, responsible for delivering c ompleted projects against this plan.
- Maintains Construction Tracking Report managing project schedule, costs and other measures against approved budgets, timelines, and objectives. Utilizes project planning tools as a single source project tracking and communication.
- Leads the design and development of store and fixture designs working with internal department stakeholders (In Store Planning, Store Ops, and Marketing) and external professionals (Architects, vendors, etc.). Ensures highest level of standards are met when sourcing fixtures and proper inventory management of fixtures are measured through an established tracking and reporting process.
- Develops and maintains a pool of professionals providing architect, engineering, manufacturing, supply, and general contracting services; in partnership with Procurement, negotiates service contracts and fixture and building supply contracts with these vendors.
- Ensures the appropriate measures are followed to obtain all required project approvals from landlords, permitting authorities and other agencies as required and necessary for project completion.
- Manages third party construction vendor relationship and closely monitors performance. Establishes design and construction best practices and playbook to ensure standard adherence.
- Directs the organization of and implements a program of preventative maintenance.
- Ensures consistent evaluation of processes and leveraging between construction and maintenance teams to ensure collaborative approach of vendors and all other executional actions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in design, Construction Management or equivalent work experience
- 14 years specialty retail store planning I construction experience.
- General knowledge of retail construction, design, and store facilities operating pr ocedures
- Knowledge of construction means, methods and material.
- Excellent communication skills oral and written.
- Demonstrated track record of managing multi-million -dollar capital plans, with 100 projects annually.
- Ability to travel as needed (20%).
- Position may work in a remote capacity but will need to be available for travel to the corporate office as needed.

$80,000 – $250,000. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary.Other compensation may include a 25% Annual Incentive PlaN (AIP) bonus paid out according to policy. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
