Sr Designer

Overview

Role requires partnership and communication with key crossfunctional partners require design observation and consumer insights participation / assessment and confident design thinking/research skills. Position will require acquiring business knowledge and understanding, driving brand development and brief creation.

Main Puropse:

  • SodaStream Flavors Design Team’s responsabilities have increased significantly since the role was created in 2019, shortly after the creation of the BTB business unit.
  • Work in this area was previously all under Sodastream HQ’s resposability, and not a focus area of growth for SST, supported by local Israeli design agencies.
  • Recently, the Int’l Bev Business, under Ram & Hannah’s leadership, is prioritizing several SodaStream initiatives with critical POSM, Brand guidelines that this position will contribute to develop.
  • End result is to deliver and execute on 360 branding/design solutions to innovation projects to drove business growth.

Responsibilities

Design Project Management:

  • Partner across disciplines within PepsiCo and external suppliers/contractors to ensure design assets are developed and delivered on time with quality, value, and overall design excellence.
  • Inform and align stakeholders throughout the creative process, regularly reviewing the status of projects with appropriate leadership to verify that project expectations are met.

Brand Design Development:

  • Support the visual identity for the Beyond the Bottle portfolio (which includes Sodastream), working in collaboration with the Brand Strategy and Design Design Director, Design Manager, and other leads across brand, product, packaging, equipment, marketing, and advertising.
  • Generate creative design proposals (visions, scenarios, concepts) in order to visualize the desired output and share it with internal and external team members.
  • Participate in research activities and effectively translate customer needs into actionable design strategy (must be able to execute those requirements into design solutions). Help drive to final design recommendations, decisions, and approval to enable artwork execution/production phases. Ensure a thorough consideration of all project variables and that the final solution will perform as planned.

External Design Network:

  • Supports the PepsiCo Design & Innovation organization in building and cultivating a robust external design network.

Compensation & Benefits:
• The expected compensation range for this position is between $74,800 – $125,300.
• Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
• Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.
• Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of deep brand design experience.
  • Extraordinary design taste and expertise with an excellent sense of design trends.
  • Extraordinary ability in using the Adobe Creative Suite softwares.
  • Effectively influences senior levels in the organization across regions and functions.
  • Can get things done through formal and informal channels.
  • Effectively communicates (verbally and written) with internal and external stakeholders across all levels.
  • Works well with others to deliver results; keeps others informed to avoid unnecessary surprises.
  • Strong typography skills, conceptual design skills, and design strategy experience.
  • 360 brand design experience (i.e., print, packaging, digital, environmental, experiential).
  • Travel 15% of the time.
  • Ability to work in an agile, dynamic work environment with a start-up mentality (comfortable with risk and uncertainty).
  • Working in a matrix organization.
  • Ability to design to business case/realities.

Additional Comments:

  • Matrixed team structure, must liaise with multiple stakeholders and team members, navigate complexity as projects develop and evolve, sometimes very quickly.
  • Involves long term projects, short term projects, ability to flex and do design sprints, across beverage and foods.
