Insight Global is seeking a talented Sr. Data Engineer that combines engineering and data analytics in support of the Asset Management / Power Quality team achieving innovation, turning vision into reality by defining, driving, and communicating digital solutions. This position will work to enhance asset management and power quality processes making strides in data analytics, querying, & automation that supports the analytics to better know and understand the health and performance of the energy delivery assets and to produce insights.
Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics
• 5+ years of experience with electric utility engineering or data analytics.
o Would consider 2 years of experience if they have a master’s degree.
• Working knowledge of R (statistical programming language) or Python (general — purpose programming language)
o Ability to create dashboard visualizations using Python
• Proficiency with data management tools and SQL
• Valid Driver’s license
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• PE (professional engineer) certificate in the state of Nebraska, or other related data engineering certification.
• Graduate level certification in business or data analytics.
• Computer science/mathematics experience in statistical modeling, machine learning, and other advanced techniques.
• Familiarity with spatial data formats, spatial transformations, and geospatial data analysis.
• Experience with creating dashboard visualizations with Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience in aggregating, and visualizing time-series data.
• Familiarity with Git workflows such as feature branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Experience in designing and implementing graph data models.
• Extensive knowledge of the district’s power delivery systems, infrastructure, and data storage
