Position Summary
The Senior Content & Editorial Specialist is responsible for developing, contributing to, and editing content for TCW’s investment and marketing teams. The successful candidate will work closely with TCW’s Head of Marketing and Communications, investment teams, Heads of Distribution and other key executives on writing a range of materials to support marketing, sales and client retention efforts. Written content may include whitepapers, product support pieces, video and webcast scripts, talking points for media and speaking appearances, web content geared towards institutional investor and financial intermediary audiences, as well as internal and executive communications pieces.
This position reports to TCW’s Head of Corporate Marketing and Communications.
Essential Duties
- Write and edit a range of marketing collateral material including whitepapers, video scripts, web copy, and product materials
- Collaborate with investment professionals on development of ideas for content, and translate those ideas into final written format
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing and Communications on drafting and editing key internal communications pieces
- Work with senior executives on development of talking points/content ideas for media interviews and conference speaking appearances
- Serve as principal editor of TCW content
- Maintain a high level of professionalism with internal clients
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 8+ years of professional writing experience working for an asset management or other investment-related company, or as a financial journalist
- Strong understanding of investment concepts across fixed income and equities, as well as capital market and macroeconomic issues
- Proficient in MS Office and comfortable learning new systems or software as needed

- Exceptional writing skills and demonstrated proficiency in writing for various audiences
- Strong editing/proofreading capabilities
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of internal stakeholders and to convey credibility when working with investment professionals
- Demonstrated ability to manage several projects at a time
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and interact well with all levels of the organization
- Self-starter who can work independently
Estimated Compensation:
Base Salary: For CA based position, the base salary range is $130k to $160k. This is an anticipated range only.
Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus
