Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The General Labor/Spot Welder is responsible for operating the spot weld machine in order to spot weld hardware components onto parts needed for production within a timely and efficient manner.
Welds positioned component to fabricate sheet metal assemblies, using stationary spot weld.
II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Obtain all necessary instructions and equipment needed for job run.
• Prepares all parts and materials needed for spot welding.
• Wears all appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for work being performed and as directed by company policy.
Completes set-up of machine which may include changing tools and positioning of machine parts as needed.
Loads material onto machine
Operates machine to create part(s) to specification.
Observes operations to detect malfunctions.
Inspect parts for confirmation to specification.
Required to obtain first and last piece part for quality check.
Wears appropriate safety equipment for work being performed and as directed by company policy.
Maintains a safe work environment through good housekeeping practices.
All other duties as assigned.
III. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Successful completion of on-the-job training.
Attention to detail.
Physical ability to do work requiring extended sitting, bending, and hand, wrist movement.
Sufficient visual acuity to read instructions and inspect parts produced.
