Job Description
Summary
This year ongoing experience will give candidates the opportunity to gain general knowledge of Purchasing through hands on involvement in many of Southwire’s Strategic Sourcing initiatives.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities
• Create purchase orders based on approved customer requisitions
• Follow up with suppliers and internal customers on open orders
• Work with Buyers to clean up existing orders
• Work with Accounts Payable, & suppliers to clear invoice discrepancies
• Manage order information using Excel
• Assist as needed with projects
Qualifications and Experience Requirement
• Ability to work at least 30 hours per week.
• Studying towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management)
• High School Diploma
• Excellent listening, communication and written skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Energetic and passionate with a flexible spirit
• Ability to proactively identify problems and propose effective solutions
• Ability to work and complete project independently, as well as within a team environment
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
