Position Title: Software Principal Engineer
Position Location: Bedford, MA. Can work remotely
Salary: $176,046.57 annual
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Summary of Duties: Develop improvements for RSA Netwitness analytics packet and log solutions. Work on continuous engineering development for RSA Netwitness network and log including troubleshooting customer escalation requests. Participate in every aspect of the Agile development process followed by the organization. Responsible for the design, development, testing, documentation, and analysis of modules or features. Provide technical expertise in resolving complex software engineering problems for Netwitness products, which require frequent use of ingenuity and creativity. Provide work leadership to others in guiding peers to raise their standards on product and technical knowledge. Interface with senior Architects to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding product concerns or features. Interact cross functionally on matters that require coordination across functional or organizational lines like Professional Services, Account Managers, Sales, and Customer support. Contribute to organizational goals and objectives. Offer proposed design changes or suggestions to processes and Netwiness products. Employ significant latitude in determining objectives of an assignment. Understand and adhere to delivery or quality targets established during the product development and testing phase with respect to product releases.
Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related field of study plus 8 years of experience in the job offered or 8 years of experience in software engineering or a related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related field of study and 6 years of experience in the job offered or 6 years of experience in software engineering or a related occupation in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience. Requires experience in: (1) C; (2) C++; (3) Python; (4) SQL; (5) SQLite; (6) Shell scripting; (7) Operating systems including Linux, Windows and Unix; (8) Debugging kernels; (9) Network protocols; (10) File system; and (11) VMware. Can work remotely.
