Norwood Park Township is seeking a Social Service Coordinator to join our team. As a government relations organization, we strive to provide support to our community members in need. The Social Service Coordinator will play a vital role in connecting local residents with social service programs and resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work and a passion for helping and empowering others.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with accessing and utilizing social service assistance programs
- Conduct intake and eligibility assessments
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and service providers
- Create and implement individualized service plans
- Provide crisis intervention and support
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of services provided
- Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work
- At least 2 years of experience in social service coordination, preferably in a government setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Knowledge of local and state social service programs and regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs.
