The Energy Policy and Procurement (EPP) organization manages electric and gas procurement to ensure reliable supply (e.g., meet the gas and electric needs of our customers 24 hours a day), reduce customer costs and price risk, minimize shareholder risk, and support environmentally preferred resources.
Settlements Information and Market Implementation (SIMI) is a team within EPP who is responsible for managing the implementation of market initiatives and energy settlement systems and information.
Position Summary
The position is responsible for managing multiple contract settlements systems, primarily focusing on Endur (ETRM), ODMS and ESTAR systems. The position will work closely with partner organizations within PG&E, as well as the system vendors. The position will be responsible for project management and business requirements gathering for system upgrades, operational releases and any compliance or SOX controls implementation for PG&E’s Voluntary Allocation and Market Offer (VAMO) and Central Procurement Entity (CPE) programs.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $32.69 to $49.04.
Job Responsibilities
- Interacts regularly and acts as a primary point of contact with various departments within Energy Procurement, Market Risk, Accounting and IT organization to: (1) communicate issues regarding daily operations; and (2) assess business and system impacts to ensure system reliability.
- Manages project planning, requirement gathering and release planning, demos and other system related meetings.
- Creates, maintains, prioritizes and sequences business requirements based on business value.
- Clearly articulates product decisions to users, the product team and stakeholders.
- Conducts post-launch user feedback sessions to support continuous improvement.
- Works with the development teams to clarify business stories and provide details needed to estimate and execute planned work.
- Leads demo and UAT sessions with the stakeholders to ensure work performed by the team meets expectations.
- Ensures all business processes, controls and process documentation are appropriate and updated to meet compliance requirements.
- Support Settlement Analysts with contract setup and maintenance in all related systems.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
- No previous experience
Desired:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or related discipline
- 1 year of experience developing and maintaining Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
- 1 year of experience providing first-line production support for business information systems designed to produce results in support of enterprise-wide operations
- Knowledge of energy market design or utility experience especially related to California markets and Energy Procurement
- Excellent oral communication and writing skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to various audiences (technical colleagues, senior management)
- Excellent analytical/problem resolution skills
- Attention to detail and understanding of key drivers affecting business results, sometimes with limited information/data
- Experience with SQL queries
- Self-directed, team player, focused on delivering high quality results consistently and on a timely basis
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives
- Ability to provide new perspectives/approaches on existing tasks/solutions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project, Visio or similar software
- Information technology savvy, Oracle DB, MS Access, MS Excel VBA, Power BI
