Senior Water Resources Project Manager

This hybrid position may be based near or out of any of our Florida offices including Miami, Broward County, Tampa, Orlando, and West Palm Beach.

Detailed Description:

Brown and Caldwell has multiple stormwater treatment projects under contract in Florida that involve planning, design, and construction and is growing that practice. This is a rare opportunity to lead major projects and deliver exceptional service to our well-established clients. This senior-level position will be responsible for managing water resources and/or infrastructure planning and design projects and maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing clients. You will also work closely with strong technical experts and other leaders in the Florida Gulf Coast and East Region

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and execute work on water resources projects including advanced stormwater treatment, pumping stations, gate systems, and bio-system facility planning and design
  • Work on engineering designs preparing reports, construction plans, specifications, calculations, and cost estimates for various projects
  • Actively direct multi-discipline design project resources and interface with Clients
  • Assume responsibility for meeting budget and profitability goals for assigned projects
  • Play an active role in the maintenance of existing clients and the development of new client relationships
  • Provide consultation in specialized areas. Make decisions and solve problems
  • Participate in improving company resources and tools to improve design production and efficiency
  • Prepare and make presentations to clients for project technical meetings
  • Ensure the quality of work products within the scope of the budget and schedule of the project
  • Supervise and mentor teams of project engineers in delivering projects and professional growth
  • Utilize internal project management tools and resources
  • Participate in BC’s QA/QC process
  • Professional association committee involvement

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; M.S. degree preferred
  • Candidate should have at least 10 years of increasingly responsible, professional experience including business development and project delivery, especially for water resource projects
  • PE license in Florida, either current and in good standing or ability to obtain a license through reciprocity within 6 months
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills with demonstrated experience managing projects or tasks within scope/schedule/budget
  • The candidate should have the documented ability to successfully manage clients and projects in a collaborative fashion and interface with Brown and Caldwell’s local, regional, and national water resources practitioners as well as help mentor junior staff
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI) is preferred but not required
  • Ability to focus on client needs while balancing multiple priorities including but not limited to project management, design, bidding, and construction management services
  • Ability to serve as a project portfolio manager in support of our Project Management Office
  • Previous business development experience (writing winning proposals and successfully pursuing work) is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and prepare written reports and documents
  • Strong knowledge of water resource management principles, practices, and regulations
  • Proven understanding of environmental and regulatory drivers for clients and projects

  • A valid driver’s license and good driving record required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending on skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $111,000 – $152,000
