Amazon Lab126 seeks a Sr. Visual UX Designer to join the Consumer Robotics design team. This position covers key features for Amazon Astro and its companion app. This is a rare opportunity to help shape a new product category and the future of home robotics.
We integrate with a diverse group of engineers, research scientists, and product managers across the Amazon. We are customer obsessed, seeking to create products that people love having in their homes.
Key job responsibilities
– Envision and bring to life intuitive, adaptable, and delightful visual experience. Create and establish the visual language, mockups, and patterns of product experiences
– Collaborate cross-functionally with design, product, and engineering teams to both raise our standards and deliver results
– Build consensus and understanding among stakeholders across Amazon devices and services
– Build interactive prototypes and keep up-to-date visual interface specifications, design standards, and documentation
– Evangelize best practices for accessibility and usability with partners
– Understand and interpret user research, academic publications, and leadership feedback to improve a V1 product
– Integrate visual design with UX, Research, Sound, Animation, and Voice designers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 6+ years of design experience
– Have an available online portfolio
– Bachelor’s Degree in digital design, graphic design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience with voice-first user interfaces
– Experience working with both hardware and software
– Strong interest in non-traditional user interfaces
– History of iterative design based on user research
– Strong drive to innovate and invent on behalf of customers
– Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
– Experience creating mobile/web motion graphic design
– Experience working across teams to synthesize feedback and input from product management, engineering, and marketing.
– Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
