The North American Marketing and Creative (NASMC) team is seeking an innovative and self-directed creative leader to join our team and help us shape the future of shopping on amazon.com. We are looking for a Senior Designer who is a subject-matter expert across disciplines including graphic, visual design, branding, animation and motion. With an acute attention to detail and strategic approach, this role develops compelling and effective creative at scale. By collaborating across all levels, demonstrating strong and graphic media design skills, the Senior Designer brings exceptional ideas to life.

The candidate has a deep knowledge and proven experience with strategic input, and creative briefs that deliver visual design systems and customer-obsessed creative concepts. In a fast-paced, and plays a pivotal role in advocating for our design decisions to partners and leadership using excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key job responsibilities
• Manages and develops and complex creative initiatives from concept to delivery, including graphic/media design creative assets, establishing templates, and layouts across multiple channels
• Develops strategy for visual design systems, with style playbooks and guides to ensure brand consistency throughout deliverables including training materials or coaching activities
• Presents design concepts and systems driven by insights, quantitative metrics, segmentation and customer feedback across multiple channels
• Works across program owners and content design teams to influence, plan, execute and ensure deadlines are met driving clarity and customer obsessed solutions
• Owns continuous improvement of all products delivered, across creative process
• Partners across creative (Copywriters, Designers and Producers), Operations (Program Managers), and technology partners (Developers and Product Managers)
• Manages multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing to meet deadlines
• Leverages data to create bar-raising solutions at scale that delivers results
• Leverages the full Adobe suite and Figma, translating creative concepts across platforms

You are driven by a passion for creating visual concepts across customer-focused retail experiences (on- and off-site, social and display campaigns). Collaborating with tech teams you activate new widgets, and are excited to partner with marketing managers, bringing to life communications and drive the strategy to scale through a team of talented designers and agency partners.

The Creative & Design team is an award-winning and self-directed center of excellence providing end-to-end customer experiences for NA Stores and Prime. We shape the future of amazon retail incorporating strategy, innovative technology and user experience to create solutions, and explorative studies that innovate for our businesses. We build experiences that connect in moments that matter for our customers.

We create intuitive, personalized and visually appealing on- and off-site cross-category shopping journeys so customers engage with new, popular and relevant products, programs and brands. Integrated in scale with new customer-facing features and experiences to drive incremental cross-category discovery and engagement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– Portfolio that demonstrates creative, unifying strategy and execution across a broad range of channels, aesthetics, and digital platforms

– 6+ years of experience leading creative roles at an agency, digital publication, or consumer brand/retailer

– Passion for directing internal and external design resources across capabilities

– Expertise with digital content creation and production, including post-production/editing and retouching

– Detailed, hands-on experience with exemplary typography and developing standards for scaling across web/digital experiences

– Demonstrated ability using data, performance metrics, and insights to inform and progress strategic recommendations

– Expertise in design/presentation/systems and tools (e.g. Adobe Design Suite and Figma)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– • Self-starter with ability to navigate ambiguous situations and thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment

– Effective cross-team collaborator and contributor that delivers with agility across multiple, complex creative projects, while meeting deadlines

– Proven team-orientated leader with ability to mentor and develop design talent

– Experience developing on- and off-site creative campaigns for e-commerce or omnichannel (seasonal, event and/or brand led)

– Expert Knowledge of UX and front-end web design processes and best practices

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
