As part of Microsoft Security, our Identity engineering team in Mountain View, CA is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Platforms and Engineering Productivity to build and manage Microsoft’s online identity providers. The Identity engineering team builds and manages Microsoft’s online identity providers for all of Microsoft’s online services and platforms like Azure, Office, Xbox, and HoloLens. We pursue big ideas that power transformational advances in online security and user management. Our work spans both the consumer and enterprise space and can be found in internet scale online services, the Windows operating system and most phones and handheld devices.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python
- OR equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience working in the tech industry as a software or systems engineer.
- 4+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8 + years of experience working in the tech industry as a software or systems engineer.
- 5 + years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles.
- 5 + years of professional software development, automation-related experiencevalued. Scripting languages such as Python or object-oriented languages such as Java, C# are most relevant, but others are acceptable.
- 3 + years of experience designing and working on public cloud services.
- Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, building large scale cloud infrastructure.
- 3 + years of experience in building Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, good understanding of Secure Development Lifecycle.
- 3 + years of experience in designing and maintaining Kubernetes clusters.
- Demonstrated testing and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to contribute to multiple projects/demands simultaneously.
- Reliable people skills and team player attitude.
Software Engineering IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 – $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 – $238,600 per year.
