International Flavors & Fragrances, Inc. seeks Senior Scent Design Manager – Home and Fabric Care in Holmdel, NJ to lead the scent creative process by partnering with Perfumers to design fragrances for key customers.
- Drive and execute olfactive strategies to ensure business success. Leverage existing knowledge to apply innovative technologies in key initiatives.
- Lead fragrance selection and identify new winning themes for customer briefs. Ensure timeline and budget requirements are met. Supervise project processes, including presentation to customers internally and externally.
- Lead a multi-functional team across different regions to deliver fragrances to customer satisfactorily. Discuss and co-design consumer testing methods, questionnaires and apply the output insights from studies into creative development.
- Understand market trends and partner with marketing to share olfactive and brand knowledge. Create and facilitate olfactive and fragrance trainings.
- Consolidate Home Care and sub-category portfolios, which feeds the rest of the Scent Design Managers and Scent Portfolio organization globally to ensure availability and awareness of the ‘Best Home Care’ fragrances. Manage Inflow and Governance (Best of Home Care) to push the best of category into specific portfolios.
- Identify gaps based on business, technical, creative and market inputs and initiate gap filling projects.
- Oversee quarterly communication of new inflow to the wider Scent Portfolio and Scent Design Manager community.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemistry, Natural Sciences or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation:
- applying olfactive experience to guide the perfumery and scent development process to secure new business;
- leading a group of multi-regional and multi-functional individuals throughout customer defensive and new business reactive and proactive projects to achieve desired results;
- driving fragrance creation projects developing an olfactive strategy detailing what kind of fragrance will be suitable for that brand, market and type of consumer and deliver the best product to the customers;
- building strategies based on customer, brands, market, consumers and competitors; collaborating with and training junior team members;
- establishing effective partnerships at all levels and across customers and multi-functional teams to deploy fragrance experiences to everyday products to achieve business targets.
- Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site.
