Job Description
The Senior Project Manager provides the overall planning, coordination, and direction for project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule. May supervise office/field administrative staff, project/field engineers, assistant project/construction managers, project/construction managers and other assigned staff. The assignment will also include architectural assessments at County owned facilities, enter data into the County’s Strategic Asset Management System (SAMS), Q/A, Project Development in SAMS, and final QA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing the following services or for supervising the Project Management team members that perform these services:
- Coordination with County Departments: Will at times contact the facility’s main point of contact to arrange for access to County facilities for assessment
- SAMS Research: Will be required to conduct facility data review in the County’s Strategic Asset Management System before each site visit
- Facility Assessment: Will conduct assessments, of his/her own discipline (mechanical, plumbing, or architectural), at assigned County facilities
- Initial Design: Will evaluate his/her own entries in SAMS and conduct Q/A of building deficiencies and equipment; Ensures project team adheres to safety requirements
- Initial Design / Project Development: Provide initial design and project development in SAMS based on the assessments conducted in the field
- Responsible for the activities of three team members when assigned as main point of contact on team. Manages bid phase services, as may be required by the client
- Performs other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is required
- Minimum of 15 years of experience as a Facilities Construction Project Manager and an additional 3 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager supervising staff is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years within the past ten (10) years paid work experience evaluating building systems is required. Experience with Public Sector projects including review, inspection and reporting procedures preferred.
- Must have advanced knowledge and application of master planning, A/E solicitation, project development and design-phase management.
- Strong computer skills with ability to use iPad to collect building data, familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related systems such as Prolog and Primavera are required
- Registration as an Architect or Professional Engineer is preferred
- Certified Construction Manager preferred
Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $135,000-$145,000.
