Senior Program Manager , Payment Risk

Amazon, the world’s most customer centric company, seeks a Senior Program Manager to support our Payment Risk organization with continuous improvements for our emerging store and business lines.

In this role, you will be tasked with identifying and implementing scalable mechanisms that will enable us to launch new stores and products to the highest standard from day 1. You will have the opportunity to audit our existing on-boarding checks and balances, while using your in depth knowledge to enhance these checks and invent new methods to provide best in class risk assessments across all geographies where Amazon has a presence. These efforts will play a critical role to the growth of Amazon as you will partner closely with business product teams to help identify controls up front to mitigate risk, improve customer experience, as well as reduce financial losses for Amazon.

To achieve these objectives, you will be responsible for developing mechanisms to proactively identify and evaluate internal/external payment risks and for defining the technology, processes, and control improvements required to mitigate them. You will support our new store expansions (physical and e-commerce), consumer payments, business 2 business payments, operations, and technology teams to help manage risks to their business, while influencing the broader risk culture across Amazon’s global payments organization. You will also lead engagement with senior stakeholders across the company, including other specialized fraud, risk, compliance, and legal functions. This position has a global scope across a variety of diverse payment products and new store concepts and is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and high paced environment.

Key job responsibilities
• Independently manage large scale and complex projects while collaborating with internal/external stakeholders across Amazon. Stakeholders will include: launch product/program teams, Operations, Legal, Compliance, as well as other risk management partner teams.
• Partner with Payment Risk stakeholders and business partners to conduct risk assessments to identify opportunities to reduce exposure across new store and product concepts.
• Lead the effort to create standardized documentation and implement scalable mechanisms to disclose identified risks to relevant stakeholders ahead of launches as well as throughout the lifecycle of products within your scope.
• Act as internal quality control manager to ensure successful and low risk launches for Payment Risk.
• Develop and manage a forward-looking risk assessment roadmap for your team.

Partner with Risk Program Teams to identify, audit and analyze risk metrics for each geography and business to identify emerging risks and monitor controls.
• Develop new KPIs that are suited for the specific programs you are overseeing.
• Serve as an advisor and subject matter expert while surfacing risk insights and best practices from a global perspective and streamline processes where appropriate.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Master’s degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
