Amazon Air is looking for a Senior Program Manager to effectively manage the gateway expansion and gateway enhancement projects in North America. This individual will scope large projects, track project timelines, and develop mechanisms for communicating to senior management on status, risks, and business challenges. As an internal-facing member of the team, the Senior Program Manager must be adept at cross-team coordination, project management, executive presentation skills, thinking big on project scope, diving deep on project details and have a proven history of delivering results. This individual will help scale gateway operations throughout the Amazon Air network to ensure Amazon can continue to delight its many customers.
Key job responsibilities
– Partner with key functional stakeholders across the company to lead, support, and influence new business initiatives.
– Escalate risks in the project plan to the relevant owners and teams, following through to resolution to ensure they are resolved.
– Navigate through ambiguity, managing and coordinating multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability of the cross-functional processes and delivering on commitments.
– Track end-to-end project status and incorporating new metrics to transition the project to the normal operations.
– Travel up to 15% of the time.
A day in the life
The Sr. Program Manager on the Amazon Air Launch Team, will lead strategic expansion efforts as Amazon continues to evolve its gateway presence and operational capabilities. Amazon AIR continues to scale in North America and this position will own part of that effort, having the opportunity to engage and interact with various levels of leadership, internal and external. The position will own, lead and drive meetings, project tasks, internal and external stakeholders and have the opportunity to place their stamp on Amazon Air’s historical growth.

The launch team is a team of five with overlapping responsibilities. Our mission is to synchronize expansion and evolutionary activities so that our field colleagues can focus on day to day ownership to delight our customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of program or project management experience
– Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
– Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
– Bachelor’s degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of driving process improvements experience
– Master’s degree
– Experience with an airline, cargo, or transportation team
– Strong track record of problem solving and strong analytical thinking skills
– Able to thrive in an ambiguous environment when given high levels of autonomy and responsibility
– Demonstrated ability to dive deep to understand potential risks and develop mitigation plans
– End-to-end process management experience
– Experience leading and developing cross-functional project teams
– Proven results defining, surfacing, and linking metrics to operational improvements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
