Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Performance Engineer to lead the system performance validation for new automation technologies.
The successful candidate will be a member of the North American Amazon Logistics WW Innovation Engineering team and will be responsible to lead the performance evaluation of new automation technologies in the network.
This role requires experienced and entrepreneurial minded individuals with combined robotics, engineering, planning and analytical skills.
Key job responsibilities
– Create the roadmap for the performance engineering team in NA for 2023 and beyond
– Responsible for creating performance evaluation programs for new automation technologies
– Will lead the performance test decks for new tech being validated in the vendor site and in the field
– Conduct DOEs to understand the overall system performance impact with new tech integration
– Being a key stakeholder in Automation program decisions for new and existing tech in the field
– Responsible for gathering business and customer requirements to develop new reporting capabilities
– Performing predictive analytics for future tech integration based on automation deployment performance
A day in the life
You will ideate and bring to life new technologies for AMZL. Your day could include: working with new vendors on developing concepts for AMZL with automation and robotics technology to being in the field and learning the challenges that associates face. You would write a business case and work with stakeholders to build a case for piloting new technology. You could dive deep into understanding how the tech influences AMZL processes and the associate’s lives. Eventually, you will iterate on your new ideas to decide for the business on GO/NO-GO for the new tech into AMZL. Bringing your entrepreneurial and innovative spirits will be a daily ordeal – it’s always Day 1.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s degree
– 5+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects experience
– 5+ years engineering experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Master’s degree
– Experience with automation and robotics technologies
– PMP Experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $95,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
