Job Description Summary:
PayPal is seeking to hire an experienced attorney to support PayPal Ventures, the global corporate venture arm of PayPal. PayPal Ventures invests in companies at the forefront of innovation in fintech, commerce enablement, digital infrastructure, and crypto/blockchain technologies.
This role can be based anywhere in the US, and will initially report to the Vice President, Corporate Legal & Secretary.

Key responsibilities include:
- Lead drafting and negotiating definitive agreements, performing due diligence, and managing and closing venture capital and other investment transactions.
- Collaborate with and manage teams consisting of other PayPal in-house attorneys, PayPal personnel, and outside advisors (including outside counsel) on PayPal Ventures and investment matters.
- Advise and work closely with a variety of key stakeholders, including senior executives, PayPal Ventures, Risk, Compliance, Treasury, Tax, Accounting, Investor Relations, Communications, HR, and business functions.
Preferred Qualifications
- JD degree with excellent academic credentials.
- 9+ years of relevant experience in venture capital and other investment transactions.
- A combination of both in-house and law firm practice experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with general corporate counseling, public offerings, and/or mergers and acquisitions is desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills and a high level of EQ.
- Excellent project management skills, well organized, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
- A high-level of intellectual, professional and interpersonal agility and flexibility, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Team oriented and able to work collaboratively and effectively with business clients and other legal department members.
- Unquestioned ethics and integrity, sound judgment and high tolerance for ambiguity.
