Position: Senior Manager II, Software Engineering
Job Location: 702 S.W. 8th Street, Mail Stop 0215, Bentonville, AR 72716
Telecommuting/working from home anywhere within the United States is permissible.
Duties: Guide the discovery phase of large projects to develop high level design by partnering with the Product Management, Web Operations, Project Management, Business, and User Experience teams; obtaining cross-function approvals; driving proof-of-concept; and implementing prototypes to validate ideas. Responsible for providing direction on engineering products; identifying short and long term solutions and timeline; reviewing and approving proposed solutions; implementing new architectural patterns; performing design and code reviews of changes; and monitoring projects with high quality deliverables. Guide root cause analysis of critical business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information; guiding actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; and reviewing and approving online documentation. Support business objectives by collaborating with business partners to identify opportunities and drive resolution; partnering with business to define priorities; and driving cross-functional partnership. Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating project plans and priorities; and monitoring stakeholders, project risks, and SLA management. Provide supervision and development opportunities by training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; and establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations. Participate in analyzing business requirements, estimation slicing, high level design, code review of business requirements, and coordination with multiple teams. This position supervises 8 employees (1 Staff Software Engineer; 4 Senior Software Engineers; and 3 Software Engineer IIIs).
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, or related field and 6 years of experience in software engineering or related field; OR Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology or related field and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related field.
Skills required: Experience with online customer facing, highly available, and fault tolerant applications that use cloud compute including Azure. Experience designing and implementing API using object-oriented programming language. Experience with Continuous integration and deployment process using Bamboo, Jenkins, and Cloud forge. Experience with authentication protocol including OAuth. Experience using project management tools including JIRA and Confluence. Experience using incident management tools including Service Now and GMC Remedy. Experience with troubleshooting issues, root cause analysis, triaging, identifying bottlenecks, seeking problem resolution, and closing incidents. Experience with requirements gathering, analysis, estimation, code review, and quality check on deliverables. Experience providing feedback to software engineers. Experience supporting business objectives by collaborating with business partners and identifying solutions. Experience maintaining performance, stability, availability, and monitoring of software applications. Experience with production incident call support and weekly status reporting to a leadership team. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: The annual salary range for this full-time position is $126,000/year to $252,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
